Extending The Hebrew University's Human Resources

The Center promotes the establishment of programs in Jewish studies and the strengthening of existing ones in universities throughout the world. 


Mikra
is an innovative new project for the creation of a socio-culturally sensitive interuniversity network of Jewish studies, oriented to the encounter and dialogue of civilizations through academic tools, and promoting the university as the arena for the futhering of multiculturalism and peace.


An important contribution abroad is made through joint programs which extend the academic capabilities of the Hebrew University's faculty in the field of Jewish studies to places where local faculty welcome the expertise and experience offered.

Barcelona

A new joint program with the University of Barcelona will offer courses in Jewish studies beginning in the 2007-2008 academic year.

Sydney

In four fields of Jewish studies close cooperation in maintained with the Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney.  Exciting developments in the field of advanced studies are expected in the near future.

Mexico

Hebrew University professors have left their impact on the Catholic university Anáhuac, where an annual course on Jews, Christians and Muslims in the Mediterranean Basin is given annually since its inception six years ago.

Cleveland

Our cooperation with the Rosenthal Center for Judaic Studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, is a breakthrough in the relationship between scholars in Jewish studies in Israel and in the USA.

Siena

Three partners, the University of Siena, the Jewish community of Florence, and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, represented by the International Center, have come together to initiate a rich program of Jewish studies in Italy.

Bucharest and Cluj

Agreements signed with two Centers of Jewish Studies in universities in two Romanian cities are designed to lay the foundations for the continued revival of Jewish and Hebrew scholarship in this eastern European country.
